How does it work?
The process for using Lewes Pounds is very simple. You can

buy Lewes Pounds at issuing points

spend Lewes Pounds with participating traders

ask for Lewes Pounds in your change

accept Lewes Pounds yourself for gifts, goods and services

keep them circulating!

Lewes Pounds can be exchanged back to Sterling at issuing points at any time
Find fun and creative ways of spending Lewes Pounds for the benefit of Lewes.
This phase of the Lewes pound runs to the 30th of August 2009, when all LPs in circulation will be exchanged for Pounds sterling or into the next phase of the Lewes pound. In the meantime the LP coordinators will be working with academics and the New Economics Foundation (nef) to develop phase 2.
