Honouring Colin Tingle

The Lewes Pound is very sorry to note the death on 18th May of Colin Tingle, one of our directors and a huge enthusiast for local currencies and their connection with the local environment. He saw local currencies as a potentially revolutionary economic force and was always buzzing with ideas about how to make the Lewes Pound more effective and more widely used. He kept us on our toes both practically and intellectually and we are quite sure that the Lewes Pound has benefited considerably from his involvement. What is more Colin lived by his beliefs—almost all his household shopping was done at shops that accepted the Lewes Pound.

We are developing a project to honour his memory, about which more in due course.
